Meghan and Matt’s Wedding at Mulberry Hill Farm in Carlisle, PA

Where do I even begin with Meghan and Matt’s intimate, detail-packed, emotional, and unforgettable wedding day ?!  From the sheep to the local flowers to a piñata at the end of the night this was a wedding I’ll never forget.

Meghan reached out to me a few months before the wedding date saying she was planning a micro-wedding on her family’s sheep farm and asked what dates I was available in June (yes, she decided to plan her wedding date around my availability-such an honor).  During our consultation call I realized how sweet, selfless, creative, and incredibly talented Meghan was.  I knew that we would become friends way past the wedding date.

I have a lot of favorite details about Meghan and Matt’s wedding, but here are some intentional choices I made when it came to their floral design to reflect their personalities.

Their wedding took place on Meghan’s family’s farm, Mulberry Hill Farm, where they raise sheep for wool. Meghan’s yarn business, Distelfink Fiber sends the wool to their mill in NY for processing and dyes it in small batches along with other luxury yarn bases.

When Meghan told me this I instantly thought of how we could wrap the boutonnieres in this custom yarn. Per Meghan, the yarn that she chose for the boutonniere was a “Romney/Border Leicester blend with lots of texture and crunchiness to it.”

Since Meghan is a small business owner, sourcing local flowers was very important to the couple.  The majority of the flowers I used for the wedding were locally sourced which made such an impact in the overall design.

Another local maker I involved in their wedding was Emma from Botanist’s Closet, who botanically dyed a custom ribbon for Meghan’s bridal bouquet.

Here’s what the couple had to say about their experience with WFD: “If you want a floral designer who takes time to get to know you, listens and arranges florals that are absolutely stunning then hire Misha! She took time to learn our story, what colors and textures we like and about us personally. As soon as I said we have a small yarn business she asked to incorporate our farm raised yarn. I also didn’t know it at the time, but she sourced hand dyed ribbon from a local artist knowing that I love handmade and supporting small! These are just a few examples of how thoughtful and insightful Misha is. She finds even the tiniest details to infuse into her displays that scream YOU! I also asked Misha to have fun with the florals and do what she thought best and I was not disappointed. Misha fused live and dried florals in a modern/boho twist which fit us perfectly. Misha has such vision and is extremely great to work with! We love you Misha!"“

This day was so incredibly intentional and intimate, and I was so incredibly grateful to be a part of their wedding day.

The vendor team for this wedding was an absolute DREAM team.
