A Woodstock Disco Wedding: Trippy Forest Vibes and Funky Florals at Stone Mill Inn

August 11, 2024

Jessie and Brandon’s wedding was pure magic—one of the best teams and wedding days we’ve ever been a part of! After the couple hired us, we recommended the photographer, Kylee B, the cake designer, Flouretta Sweet, and the design and rental company, Creamery Hills, and it was a friend-filled wedding day for all involved.

Jessie and Brandon were completely open and trusting, giving us full creative freedom to design their dream wedding with a Woodstock, disco, roller rink, and trippy forest vibe. They didn’t care one bit what flowers we used, so long as it fit the vision- talk about a Floral Designer’s dream!

We went all-in on the local flower scene, sourcing unique blooms from some of our favorites: Rock and River, Riverside, and Triple Springs Farm. We chose some really funky flowers to match the couple's eclectic style, including "unicorn" zinnias, eremus, anthurium, explosion grass, and allium. The result? A wild, psychedelic display that felt like Alice’s Floral Wonderland. Every detail was intentional and on-theme, from the glass mushroom bud vases to the funky vases and tie-dye ribbons.

The ceremony space was an absolute show-stopper with strands of carnations hanging from the ceremony arch—one of the couple’s must-haves—and flowers and greenery suspended from the ceiling. This was actually the first time Stone Mill had flowers hanging from the ceiling, and it created a magical, immersive atmosphere. We would LOVE to do hanging installations at Stone Mill Inn again one day!

The love and joy radiating through Jessie and Brandon’s wedding was palpable. The couple was so full of energy and excitement that they even invited our whole Woodland Floral Design team to stay and celebrate with them, which was a blast! We tore up the dance floor, wiped away tears during speeches and soaked in every moment with Jessie, Brandon, and their people.

Jessie described her bouquet as a "meadow" when she saw it, and her bridesmaids each carried single-stem bouquets—a simple, sophisticated touch that we absolutely loved. Jessie and Brandon’s Stone Mill Inn wedding was truly one for the books!

Jessie and Brandon, you two know how much we adore you both. Not only getting to flower your wedding day but also getting to witness you begin your marriage was the greatest honor. We cannot wait to see what’s next for you two and we’ll always cherish being a part of your wedding day!
