A Citrus Sunset Wedding: A Floral Masterpiece in Two Months at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club

May 26, 2024

This vibrant wedding came together in just two months, for Devina and Crawford at the gorgeous Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, thanks to the amazing work of planner Carolina Hatton, who pulled off an unforgettable wedding day on a tight timeline. The couple decided to tie the knot with little notice and entrusted Carolina to handle most of the details, including working with me on the florals.

With just one inspiration photo for the color scheme, we crafted the floral arrangements, building a citrusy sunset vibe using lush, locally sourced blooms from Riverside and Rock and River. The couple had only a few requests—one of them being eucalyptus, which they loved for its fresh, fragrant scent. Their other wish was for a large, statement-making ceremony installation. We went all out with this, creating a lavish, show-stopping floral backdrop that we later repurposed in front of the head table and around the band at the reception.

Our favorite element was using eremus in the ceremony florals. This tall, slightly quirky flower added an unexpected touch that stood out beautifully amidst a mix of peonies, foxglove, agrostemma, and of course, the classics like roses and snapdragons. The combination gave the wedding a dreamy, sunset-inspired palette that perfectly captured the couple’s vision.

To ease the wedding planning burden for our couple, we were in close communication with Carolina leading up to the wedding day and knew exactly how to ensure their flowers reflected their personalities and preferences. One of the sweetest moments was when the bride saw her bouquet and teared up, a reminder that even when we’re collaborating mostly with your planner, we will always make sure the florals reflect YOU and your unique vision.

Devina and Crawford’s wedding was proof that, even with a shorter timeline and working directly with your planner, we can still create a floral design that feels deeply personal and unique to you.
